Welcome to Hearts for Hunter!
Hello Everyone!
First and foremost, I would like to say Welcome to Hearts for Hunter! This site is your avenue for providing support for PFC Hunter Levine!
My name is Blake Meaux. I am the founder and executor of Hearts for Hunter. I want to thank you all for the support and words of encouragement that you all continue to provide. Hunter is going through a tough time in his life, but your support is very uplifting to him.
As you know, it is our duty as Americans to provide support to our soldiers when they are in need. Hunter has a lot to go through in the near future and needs us to be his backbone until he can get back on his feet.
The reality is that Hunter may never regain his sight. The blast shattered his face, causing him to lose one eye while severely damaging the other. During surgery in the remaining eye, doctors were able to recover 30-40% of his retina, but there is no guarantee that this eye will become functional.
There are many things that will be provided to him by the military, as well as many things that will not. 100% of the donations we receive are going towards Hunter’s future and recovery and I hope that you can join me in supporting him.
My goal is to make his recovery as smooth as possible. We will get him back on his feet so he can become a successful contributor to society and live as much as a normal life as possible
Before Hunter left for Iraq, he came over to our house for a small going away celebration. During the party, my brother and I were discussing with Hunter the dangers he was soon to face. He courageously told us that “He would die for us if need be.” This comment stuck with me because he said it with no hesitation or fear as if it was his duty to protect us.
When Hunter was wounded, I immediately took action to build a support system for him. If he was willing to sacrifice himself for our well-being, then I could only return the favor. I have spent many hours working for Hunter because it is the right thing to do. I refuse to sit back and assume that the job will get done. Instead, we together will make it happen with your continued support.
I will keep everyone posted on Hunters progress. He and his family are very grateful for the support that you have all provided. It is amazing what we can accomplish together!!
Thank you,
Blake Meaux

Hunter,
I haven’t seen any updates since October, so I started doing online searches, and found this one. I really want you to know that we are all pulling for you to recover as best as possible, of course! If you want to email me and communicate that way, I would really love to. Thanks for your service, I always feel indebted to you. I served in Iraq in 03/04, with the army national guard, but was a marine from 86 to 93. I was in texas at san angelo in 90, for about 3 months, and actually got my first drivers license in texas. 21 years old, never had a DL before. Just because something happens later in life, doesn’t mean it won’t happen or isn’t important. Keep your hope up, and remember we are praying for you brother!
Kevin
Hunter,
Man I just saw you on 11 News and all I can say is WOW!!! You are a TRUE man of courage and I know that you are gonna hang in there. Be strong, be faithful, and be firm in the faith that GOD has and will continue to take care of you. Im a school teacher and have never known the fear of being in combat, but I know that you are and will continue to be a HERO for all of us young and old!!!
PEACE AND LOVE MY BROTHER,

Hey Hunter,
First of all i would like to THANK YOU for risking your life for us Americans. I just heard your story on KHOU and it was very touching. You are one man with a BIG heart. Keep your head up because anything and everything is possible through Jesus Christ. I thank God that you came home alive! My cousine has been in the Marines since he was 18yrs old and now he is 28. He almost lost his life in Iraq when he was 21. He was is ICU and the doctor said that his legs would have to be amputated. Now he is fully recovered and they ended up putting a long metal plate in his leg. You are right about some people just don’t have the heart and guts to hear the storys, but i do cause i see it as it is a blessing for you and my cousine being here and coming home alive! Keep your head up SOLDIER! Blake i just want to let you know you are a very AWESOME and CARING friend! Keep up the good work!
God Bless You All! Hunter much love!
Love,
Lizzie from Houston Tx.
